Enhanced Haematology Range

5th June 2010

Cytocell are pleased to announce the release of 6 new probes for the detection of chromosomal aberrations in multiple myeloma bringing our comprehensive range of haematology products to 36 probes.

Three probes for the detection of specific IGH translocations (CCND3, MYEOV and MAFB) have been developed for a more specific, prognostic, diagnosis of multiple myeloma.
After researching 13q14.3 deletions in multiple myeloma patients, the new D13S25 and D13S319 probes have been designed to optimise detection of 13q aberrations which are often associated with poor prognosis. To complete the collection of multiple myeloma probes, a dual probe for the detection of structural abnormalities in chromosome 1 has been developed as this correlates to a more advanced disease. This probe targets the CKS1B and CSKN2C genes located at 1q21, 1p36 respectively.

We have also launched a tri-colour BCR/ABL Plus probe to include an aqua probe for the ASS gene and another IGH translocation probe, IGH/cMYC t(8;14) which is found in approximately 75% of patients with Burkitts Lymphoma.
